under construction, under construction, under construction.
my name is
rainbow -
he/she/it/they / 21 / afro-indigenous/filipino
i'm a
digital artist, graphic designer, webmaster, and practicing undergraduate in computer science.
my fascination with html/css began with early deviantart webpage coding back in 2013, sparking an important outlet for self expression
that i was never truly able to communicate by other common means.
my art reflects myself, and my passion with webpage building is sincere: as some one who's never
been quite able to verbalize their ideas through words, i hope visual expression creates a bridge of understanding between my mind and the world.
whether this be through art, storytelling, or other means, from the bottom of my heart i hope you find some kind of inspiration from my works.
aside from my aspirations, i'm a FUCKING autistic nerd. furry is my life and i enjoy artwork, rhythm games, animanga, music, sofubi collection, retro gaming, internet obscurities, and more.
a lot of my artistic interest and inspirations stem from the
superflat postmodern art philosophy, which visually very much influences my art and graphic design identity - tera terada, takashi murakami, and baron ueda to name a few.
similarly, i have an obsession over early flat y2k graphic design; i recommend checking out
web design musuem's y2k exhibition to get a feel of what im going for in terms of personal inspiration.
however, i also have a soft spot for maximalist colorful fashion and artwork - decora kei, streetwear, scene culture, etc! i believe the messages behind each of these subcultures have further motivated my passion to create
(kinda counterintuitive visually to what i aim for...but i want to strive to find an avenue to balance both).
my first experience with the world of furry and art was through flash based mmorpgs/chatrooms/forums such as whirled (r.i.p), animal jam, feral heart, neopets, etc. i relate closely with otherkin/therianthropy/transhumanism, and being in online spaces where i could change my form to shift what i felt i truly "looked" like had a cathartic effect on my personal identity early on.
introverted at the time, i would spend hours after school playing these games and eventually scrolling on tumblr - essentially, growing up on the internet (which has definitely had consequential effects, do not recommend). through whirled, i found out digital artwork was a thing; my entire world changed knowing that there were people like me who made digital art a living; eventually learnt deviantart was a thing and by some divinely fated means met my close friends of over a decade, and started drawing with a shitty logitech trackball mouse on mspaint. everyday. i mean EVERYDAY after school. i had so much time. when i got my first laptop, i upgraded to drawing with a trackpad for years until i got my first tablet at age 17. the rest is history, until now obviously!
